Vandals damage 24 cars in Mayfair

Vandals used spray paint and another unknown substance to damage 24 vehicles on a Mayfair Street late Friday or early Saturday, Philadelphia police said.

Officers from the 15th district went to the 3000 block of Knorr St. at about 7:30 a.m. on Saturday after a resident reported that someone had spray painted the word “FELO” on the rear passenger-side door of her white 2010 Toyota Corolla.

Another man then approached the officers and reported that other cars had been similarly vandalized on the 3100, 3200 and 3300 block of Knorr St.

All were parked on the north side of the street. Some of the graffiti was racially derogatory, police said.

There were 24 damaged cars in all. In addition to paint, the vandals poured an unknown liquid onto cars to damage them.
